The DareThe Dare is already heading to Australia next month as one of the most anticipated acts at this year’s Laneway Festival, and now, he’s announced another two shows.
The solo project of vocalist, songwriter and producer Harrison Patrick Smith, The Dare’s freakquencies club nights will take place in Melbourne and Sydney next month. freakquencies is The Dare’s infamous club night – the events have a reputation as an insider, unmissable “IYKYK” dance party.
Of course, the freakquencies nights always have The Dare joined by friends, and the Australian club nights are no different. The exclusive parties will see Smith joined by fellow Laneway acts performing DJ sets: indie rockers Wet Leg and everyone’s new favourite band, Geese.
The Dare and friends will take over Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Sunday, 8 February, and Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Friday, 13 February.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, 22 January, at 11 am local time ahead of the general sale on Friday, 23 January, at 12 pm local time. You can find more ticketing information on the Frontier Touring website.

Since making his Australian debut in December 2024 – where he appeared at Meredith Festival and played three sold-out shows in Melbourne and Sydney – The Dare has played to record crowds globally, including at Coachella and Primavera, and released his four-track instrumental project, FREAKQUENCIES: VOL 1.
His latest edition of freakquencies saw 4,000 people gather in a New York boiler room. At recent shows, The Dare invited friends Blood Orange, Danny L Harle, Dylan Brady and 2manydjs to perform DJ sets.
The Dare’s breakthrough happened in 2024, when Charli XCX—who also experienced a breakout year—added the musician to her Brat tour in North America. The two went on to work together, with The Dare producing the remix of Charli XCX’s song Guess featuring Billie Eilish, which got to #1 in the UK and Australia.
The Dare dropped his debut album, What’s Wrong With New York?, in September 2024 and has been described as one of the stars leading the “indie sleaze revival.”
