Vivid LIVE wrap part one
Sydney is currently awash with colour thanks to the 2014 Vivid festival and the city is humming thanks to its Vivid LIVE centrepiece.
Kicking off over the weekend, shows by the Pixies, Midlake, The Presets and St Vincent (arguably the one most people are talking about this Monday) have set the tone while parties from Sydney indie labels and party-starters RIP Society and Siberian Nights rammed it home.
There was also the magnificent Lighting Of The Sails and one of the country's most recognisable structures is now one of its most staggeringly vibrant as well. Here's the wrap-up from the first weekend:

Rainbow Chan, Jonti and Jack Colwell got involved in an Avalanches tribute that had far more substance than rumours of a new album.

It's been a turbulent few years for the Texas pastoral folk rock outfit, and even if not everything went right at least they're looking confident again.

Who would have thought that we'd see a showcase from independent trailblazers RIP Society at the bloody Opera House? Lucky there was VB in the house.

Hard to go past Pixies again, but Kate Miller-Heidke should absolutely shine in the house tonight. See the full list of shows here.
