As Adelaide rock veterans The Angels launch their new era following their 50th anniversary tour, the group are once again hitting the road for a national tour.
Announcing their Go For Broke Tour, the forthcoming run of dates comes about as they reflect on a massive milestone and look ahead to what’s coming next.
“Last year was really special,” founding guitarist John Brewster says. “And that was down to all our fans who made the 50 Not Out tour one to remember. But I really feel this is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Angels.”
Indeed, that new chapter was borne out of a period of transition. With longtime vocalist Dave Gleeson hanging up the mic after 12 years in the role in 2023, Nick Norton stepped up to the plate, with the band releasing their Ninety Album just last year.
It’s this title title track – which is subtitled Go For Broke – that gives the new album tour its moniker. “It refers to the fact that 99 per cent of us have to accept our lot, while the one per cent take the lion’s share,” explains Norton. “The super-rich are richer than they’ve ever been.”
The forthcoming tour will launch with shows in Torquay and Melbourne across July 4th and 5th, before visiting Western Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland, before wrapping up with a homecoming date at Adelaide's Bridgeway Hotel on August 2nd.

“One reviewer called a recent Angels show ‘rock ’n’ roll thunder,’” Brewster remembers. “And I guess it is.”
