The All-American Rejects briefly paused their show on Saturday (13 December) after noticing a fan pass out in the crowd.

Performing as part of this year’s KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, the pop-rockers played a seven-song set and halted the show mid-final song (Gives You Hell) to check on the fan.

According to TMZ, vocalist Tyson Ritter stopped playing, grabbed the microphone, and pointed towards the pit, informing security guards that a woman had passed out on the floor and required assistance.

Ritter also spoke with the audience, telling punters to move aside and help the fan who passed out, and maybe give her some “Twinkies or sugar or Christmas gumdrops or pieces of gingerbread houses.”

Asking if the fan was okay from the stage, she was then helped away from the pit. The All-American Rejects then charged into the chorus of Gives You Hell and finished their performance. You can see footage below.

This year’s KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas line-up included performances from further beloved rock acts, including Evanescence, Papa Roach, Rise Against, Social Distortion, Third Eye Blind, Yellowcard, Wet Leg, The Paradox, and a surprise performance from 4 Non Blondes, who performed an acoustic rendition of Christina Aguilera’s hit Beautiful – which singer Linda Perry wrote and produced – and their hit, What’s Up?.

Earlier this month, The All-American Rejects pulled out of Good Things Festival and their sideshows, citing a family emergency. The shows would have marked The All-American Rejects’ first appearances in Australia in 16 years.

“We’re heartbroken to share that due to a sudden family loss, we won’t be able to make it to Australia as planned,” the band shared in a statement with fans. “This has been an incredibly difficult moment for us, and as much as it devastates us to miss such a great opportunity to reconnect with our Australian fans, family has to come first.”

They added, “Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and all the love you continue to give this band. We’ll make it up to you as soon as we’re able.”
