Tones And I provided a treat for fans at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday night, with a surprise guest appearance from Australian Olympic breakdancer RachaelRaygunGunn

Having played a huge setlist with some of her chart-toppers for the November 9th performance, Tones And I (Toni Watson) kept audiences hooked for her 20th song of the night Dance With Me.

For her newest single, Watson welcomed one of Australia’s most talked-about dancers to the stage. Delivering her trademark “kangaroo hop” in sync with a confetti cannon, Raygun has audiences positively psyched, keeping the energy high for Watson’s biggest hit and final song Dance Monkey.

Tones And I posted the spectacle to Instagram the next day, speaking highly of the athlete.

“Raygun the most beautiful kindest full of life human I have met. It was an honour to celebrate you last night. Thank you for sharing the stage with me and bringing smiles to so many faces. You always have a friend in me.”

Known for her unconventional breaking style and viral debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Raygun has become something of a cultural phenomenon.

World DanceSport Federation ranked the Sydneysider as the world number 1 in breaking in September 2023, however her Olympic debut in breakdancing sparked debate about her credibility.

Last week, it was reported that Raygun would be retiring from competitive breakdancing after the backlash from her Olympic performance, however, the breaker cleared this up on Jimmy & Nath Breakfast last week:

“It’s not a decision that I did come to. I was talking on 2Day FM about how I’m not going to do certain competitions anymore, which didn’t seem like such a big deal because Breaking is not going to be in the Olympics anyway,” she said.

“But you know, I’m still going to be part of community jams, or I’d like to go to community jams and still dance and still break. I never use the word retire – I’m not retiring.”
