More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

After making Spotify history last week, Taylor Swift’s re-recording of Red has its sights set on the Aussie charts.

Red (Taylor’s Version) is the second album the US singer-songwriter has re-recorded in the midst of a battle over the rights of her earlier music, and it’s looking to claim #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Fearless (Taylor's Version) soared to #1 in Australia upon release back in April, giving her not only her eighth #1 Down Under, but her third to reach the top of the chart in a 12-month period (following folklore in August of 2020 and then evermore last December), making her the first artist to do so.

If she debuts at #1 with Red (Taylor’s Version), she’ll tie with the current record for consecutive #1 studio albums, held by Eminem with nine.

According to midweek figures, the album’s title track is also expected to soar into the Singles Chart Top 10, while We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylor's Version) and I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault) also debut.

Red (Taylor’s Version) was released last week and broke Spotify’s record for the most-streamed album in a day by a female artist and the most-streamed female artist in a single day.

Swift performed her new 10-minute edition of All Too Well on SNL earlier this week.

As far as local releases go, Flight FacilitiesForever is looking to debut in the Albums Chart Top 5, while Courtney Barnett’s Things Take Time, Take Time is expected to crack the Top 10, following a performance on Ellen this week and the release of a trailer for her documentary, Anonymous Club.
