More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s Fearless (Taylor's Version) has soared to the top of the ARIA Albums chart, debuting at #1 with the US singer making history in the process.

The re-recording of Swift’s second album is not only her eighth #1 in Australia, but her third to reach the top of the chart in a twelve-month period, making her the first artist to do so.

Fearless (Taylor's Version)’s #1 debut follows on from folklore last August and then evermore in December, and with only 17 weeks between that album topping the chart and Fearless (Taylor's Version) doing the same thing, Swift has also broken the record for least amount of weeks between different #1 albums.

The record was previously held by Swift for the time between folklore and evermore hitting #1.

As if that wasn’t enough, the US talent is on track to break more records with future releases as she’s currently placed second for most ARIA #1 albums by a female solo artist, sitting behind Madonna, who has eleven, and right behind Eminem for consecutive #1 studio albums (the US rapper has nine).

Alongside Fearless (Taylor's Version), Swift currently has four other albums in the ARIA Albums chart: evermore (#12), folklore (#16), 1989 (#24) and Lover (#34), meaning she makes up 10% of this week’s top 50.

Local music legend Richard Clapton has claimed his highest-charting album ever in Australia, with Music Is Love (1966-1970) debuting at #3 on the Albums chart, while also landing at #3 on the Vinyl Albums chart, sitting behind Ariana Grande’s Positions (#1) and The BadlovesGet On Board (#2), which both debuted this week.

The Australian singer’s new release is a collection of cover tracks from the era, including songs like Summer In The City, Love The One You're With, For What It's Worth (Hey, What's That Sound), Riders On The Storm and more.

Meanwhile, Brockhampton's Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine, the first of two recently announced works, debuts at #6.

Over the Singles chart, Justin Bieber holds onto #1 for a second week with Peaches, while Lil Nas X’s Montero (Call Me By Your Name) notching up to #2 its third week in the top 50 and Polo G's Rapstar debuts at #4 and Doja Cat's Kiss Me More feat. SZA debuts at #10.
