More Static-X More Static-X

American industrial metal heroes Static-X have announced that their new album, Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 is due for release on Friday, 3 November.

Accompanying the album announcement is a cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic, Terrible Lie, which finds Static-X sticking to the primary melody while adding their signature Evil Disco sound to the mix. Available for pre-order now on the band's website, fans can purchase vinyl, hoodies, CDs, cassettes, and more. Check out the merchandise range here

Like Vol. 1, the album consists of recovered recordings and entirely new songs - 13 new tracks, in fact - in honour of original frontman Wayne Static, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 48

Unlike Vol. 1, however, is the presence of just Wayne Static on vocals. Part one featured Disturbed's David Draiman, Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell, Ministry's Al Jourgensen, and many others.

Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 features the Wisconsin Death Trip lineup of the band, which is Wayne Static, Tony Campos (bass), Koichi Fukuda (guitars) and Ken Jay (drums). The new album was produced by the band's current vocalist/guitarist, Xer0 and mixed/mastered by longtime collaborator Ulrich Wild.

Wayne's younger sister Aimee said about the upcoming release (via Blabbermouth): "We all miss Wayne very much and we are so proud of the way that the band has chosen to honor [sic] him through the completion of his final works.

"They continue to place an emphasis on his presence within their live shows and it’s been incredible to see the fans continue to connect with the band's music and with Wayne's memory. We fully support the journey that STATIC-X is currently on, and we know that Wayne would be incredibly grateful for all of the hard work that Tony, Ken, Koichi and Xer0 have done over the past few years."

In case you missed it: Static-X will return to Australia this May for a headline tour alongside influential US rockers SOiL.

“We are so excited to finally get back to Australia. We plan to play most of the songs off of both Machine and Wisconsin Death Trip as well a number of nice surprises,” Campos said.
