Young Henrys brewery says it never signed an agreement with promoters Heathen Skulls either

Following on from this morning's dramas involving fledgling heavy music festival Rolling Thunder — which saw venue managers at Victoria's Kryal Castle deny that they had ever agreed to host the event, despite tickets being put on sale — representatives from Newtown watering hole Young Henrys have also denied their advertised involvement as sponsors.

In a statement issued this afternoon, Young Henrys management advised that an announcement from festival promoter Heathen Skulls stating that the brewery would be sponsoring the event was "incorrect", and sought to amend the record.

"Now, Young Henrys aren't generally whingers, but while discussion was entered into between the brewery and the concert organisers weeks prior, no agreement had been reached before the announcement was made," Young Henrys' statement said, echoing the sentiments offered overnight by Kryal Castle's management.

According to Young Henrys co-founder Richard Adamson, although he and co-founder Oscar McMahon are "massive" fans of advertised event headliners The Sword, "unfortunately it appears that someone has jumped the gun on a few fronts".

"We really hope that somehow music lovers get to see the bands they were excited about," Adamson said.

The brewery concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to the music industry by way of actual sponsorship deals it has in place — such as for the forthcoming Fairgrounds Festival in Berry, NSW — before ultimately requesting that "all mentions of their sponsorship of the Rolling Thunder concert be corrected".

Management of Young Henrys would like to advise that the recent announcement stating the brewery would be sponsoring the Rolling Thunder heavy metal concert are in fact incorrect.

Now, Young Henrys aren't generally whingers, but while discussion was entered into between the brewery and the concert organisers weeks prior, no agreement had been reached before the announcement was made.

"We are massive fans of The Sword with Oscar and I cranking their records in the brewery whilst working. Unfortunately it appears that someone has jumped the gun on a few fronts. We really hope that somehow music lovers get to see the bands they were excited about,” comments Richard Adamson, co-founder of Young Henrys.

Young Henrys are huge supporters of the music industry, hosting and sponsoring regular events such as the upcoming Fairground Festival, and look forward to working with many more music events in the future.
