Spacey Jane Lead Tasmanian New Year's Festival 'Great Escape'

Alright, Tasmania, are you ready to ring in the New Year with an all-Australian New Year’s festival? Great Escape has you covered with a huge multi-day event less than an hour away from Hobart in Redbanks, Nugent.

With an impressive line-up headlined by WA indie rockers Spacey Jane, Lime Cordiale, and The Presets—performing a DJ set—fans will also get to experience sets from Thelma Plum, San Cisco, Hockey Dad, The Buoys, Dear Seattle, Jack River, Pacific Avenue, and Teenage Dads.

Other names featuring on the line-up include Blusher, Maddy Jane, Fool Nelson, The Tullamarines, Bec Sandridge, and more. Check out the full line-up below.

In addition to live music, Great Escape festival—presented by triple j—is BYO and will also feature licensed bars, morning yoga, a chill-out area, free camping, and light-night DJs.

Great Escape festival returns for its sixth year, taking place from Monday, 29 December, to Thursday, 1 January 2026.

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Tuesday, 2 September, at 8:00 am AEST, ahead of the general sale on Friday, 5 September, at 8:00 am AEST. Tickets will be available via the Great Escape festival website.

Lime Cordiale return to Tasmania after performing the first of their numerous orchestral shows in Wrest Point this week. Meanwhile, fellow headliners Spacey Jane dropped their latest album, If That Makes Sense, earlier this year and followed it up with a massive tour that stopped in Hobart back in June.
