Sydney-based soccer personality and video creator Olan Tekkers has dropped a diss track toward the Rugby League team Queensland Maroons. Tekkers shared the video on his Instagram just days before the team’s match against the NSW Blues on Wednesday (17 July).
Donning a NSW Blues jumper, Tekkers rapped in the clip posted to social media, “Queenslander, you got no teeth/ Maroon, try step to us/ Repping Queensland in NSW? I don’t know, but you sound confused/ ‘cause where I’m from, man, that ain’t what we do.”
He continued, “Payne has Olan Tekkers movin’. I’m J Hus… last game; mandem needs a pay cut.”

After the Australian R&B and hip-hop Instagram account Take Flight shared a post about Tekkers’ diss track, the video personality wrote in the comments: “I don’t want no SMOKE I AM NOT A RAPPER. This was banter please artists.”
In the comments on Tekkers’ social media profiles, he received comments like, “Who knew we needed a state of origin diss track,” and “This is gonna age well. QUEENSLANDER!,” “Queenslanders need to do something about this,” and “Petition for the blues to run out to this track.”

Earlier this year, Australian country singer Sara Berki went viral on YouTube and TikTok after she performed the John Denver classic Take Me Home, Country Roads before an AFL match between Carlton and Brisbane at the Gabba. Since her performance first aired in March, she’s gathered millions of views across multiple platforms.
Telling Countrytown about the impact of her covering John Denver has had on her career, Berki said: “I know it's a really cliche thing to say, but I did not think that the most well-known country song could connect with that many people in the way that it has.
“I don't know, it’s a very different way of hearing it as well, my version of how I sing it; I like to think it’s my take on a classic.”
