His company is even called "Slasher Films"; there is no way he did not plan this
Now that Guns N' Roses have been confirmed as not playing next year's Soundwave festival after giving no sign at all that that would be the case to begin with, perhaps we can all turn our attention to something that longtime guitarist Slash actually is doing with his time — namely, producing horror movies through his film company, Slasher Films.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Slash has taken up with Revolver Picture Company (Haunt, Beneath) and Boogeyman 2 & 3 scribe Brian Sieve to commence work on the new movie, which is designed as a franchise-starter and "harks back to popular slasher franchises of the '80s like Halloween and Friday The 13th".
Revolver executive Nick Phillips told THR of the budding partnership, "We knew he was into horror movies so we had a big dinner. He gets it, from the old Universal classics to the '70s and, yes, excitedly for us, the '80s".
"They had an idea that tied in perfectly with a theme that I was working on at the time," Slash added. "From there, together with Brian Sieve, I think we developed something awesome."
