Sheppard Announce 2024 Australian Tour

Australian family trio Sheppard are coming home, this morning announcing a massive national tour. Today’s announcement follows their move to Nashville earlier this year.

Playing headline shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, and Kiama, the band will also play at two music festivals: Tropical North Queensland’s Savannah In The Round, and the Carnival of Cups in Young, NSW. Scheduled for October and November, all shows will be open to punters of all ages.

The Geronimo group said of their triumphant return, which comes in support of their fourth album, Zora: “We knew that fans back here at home have been waiting for us to return from Nashville to tour again. There is no better feeling than being onstage here in Australia and watching our fans turn the show into a massive party.”

Sheppard will be joined by a special guest, the ARIA-nominated DJ/producer Jolyon Petch, who is known for the hit Dreams feat. Reigan, a remix of the Fleetwood Mac classic.

The pre-sale for the band’s upcoming Australian tour begins at 10 am AEST on Wednesday, 31 July, with the general sale opening at 11 am AEST on Thursday, 1 August. Tickets can be found on the Sheppard website.

Upon announcing the release of Zora, which arrived last month, George Sheppard commented in a poignant statement:

The album revolves around the rejuvenating nature of light and that no matter how dark life at times can feel, a new sunrise is just around the corner. Throughout any family ordeal or crisis (which no doubt every family goes through), we constantly look up to our Croatian Baba (grandma), whose name is Zora.
Life has thrown her some monumental curveballs, but the way she's always kept a smile on her face, shown nothing but love, positivity, and hope for the future in the face of tragedy is something we've always admired about her.
This led to us consciously focus on gratitude and finding the positive in our own moments of crisis or loss. Instead of writing sad songs of self-pity and despair, we decided to set out to craft an album that was authentic to our emotion and real-life experiences, but could still be fun, uplifting, anthemic, and most importantly - hopeful.
