As an artist and producer
Local country music stalwart Shane Nicholson has signed a multi-faceted deal with Universal Music Australia's Lost Highway record label.
The deal sees Nicholson join the roster as both an artist and a producer, with the later role to see the singer-songwriter help identify and devlop new talent.
UMA Managing Director Michael Taylor said the imprint were "thrilled" to welcome Nicholson to Lost Highway.
"As an artist, he’ll continue to do what he does so well; make important music that is dear to so many. As Staff Producer, Shane will expand his studio duties by also looking for, identifying, developing, and bringing in new, exciting talent to the Lost Highway label at Universal."
The award-winning muso will release his first title through the label this month - his new live concert album Pitch, Roll & Yaw: Live And Solo will be out on Friday 21 November. Fans can expect Nicholson's fifth solo studio album to be released early next year.
Lost Highway Records, which is one of the major country and roots labels in the US, began its Australian operations at the beginning of this year, with singer-songwriter Catherine Britt the first signing to the roster.
