The influential rapper says things got "out of hand" among commenters
It seems Seth Sentry's Facebook page was the scene of a tempest in a teacup last night, and all over Prime Minister Tony Abbott's daughter Frances, the $60,000 scholarship controversy that has plagued her this week, and a line drawing of the hip-hop artist based on a picture by photographer Nick Rieve.
The original post - “So this drawing was in Tony Abbotts daughters [sic] portfolio. The one that got her the 60k scholarship?” - was interpreted by some as ridiculing Frances, though Sentry has elaborated that its primary mission was to express his total bewilderment at the recent chain of events more than a statement of ire, even taking pains to remind his followers that the (perceived) sins of the father don't - or shouldn't - become the sins of the child.
Still, it is apparent that the thread took a turn for the particularly nasty, prompting the rapper to delete the post entirely by this morning.
Taking to the social media platform today to voice his concern, Sentry said he was "legitimately gutted" about the course the comment thread took - the extremes to which it went, in the absence of remaining evidence or screenshots, are pure speculation - and reminded his audience that "real, living, breathing human beings" reside behind digital profiles; that if you wouldn't say something inflammatory to someone's face, it's best not to put it online, either.

The response to the post has been overwhelmingly positive, with followers lauding Sentry for his decision to curb escalation of the issue by removing the offending content - though some were determined to still press buttons, with one offering, "Dude all I said was she fucked your nostrils up."
