9 November 2021 | 3:56 pm | Staff Writer

“We will have 100 per cent capacity again because of these new rules.”

Queensland events are to return to full capacity as early as next month, following new guidelines put in place by premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.

From 17 December, venues and entertainment precincts will be allowed to reopen without patron limits, on the provisor that all in attendence - including staff - are fully vaccinated.

Businesses will be required to ensure those within their venues are up to date with all vaccinations, and must ask any unvaccinated peoples to vacate immediately.

“If there is no evidence, they can ask them to leave,” Palaszczuk said. “And if they don’t leave, they can call the police.”

The mandates will also see and end to required mask wearing in all public areas. The news comes as the state approaches the 80% target of all adult residents being fully vaccinated.

“We will have 100 per cent capacity again because of these new rules,” Health Minister Yvette D’Ath explained of the updates. "We have listened to business, we have responded.”
