GROOVIN THE MOO, at this point, has become an institution in Australia's hectic festival scene. Having survived the downfall of Big Day Out, Future Music and other ex-cornerstones of Australian live music, Groovin The Moo has shown time and time again why its impact is not about to be overshadowed anytime soon.

Taking live music to places around the country that it's seldom seen, GTM offers some of the best our country and other countries have to offer and this year is no exception. With a lineup sporting the likes of The Wombats and Violent Soho, this bill might be GTM's strongest yet and here are our picks for who you cannot miss when the festival kicks off this weekend.

K.FLAY

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

An American musician with a venom-dipped tongue and complete bravado in her songwriting, K.FLAY is like Kiiara's more rebellious cousin. Her track 'FML' is bold, booming and sure to tear up the paddock over the next few weeks. Having just dropped her new record Every Where Is Some WhereK.Flay's refreshing take on both electronic music and alternative hip-hop is something we don't see often here in Australia so needless to say her set will be an explosive one.

SNAKEHIPS

The man behind your fav 2015 tune 'All My Friends', SNAKEHIPS has become a master of choosing his collaborators. Everyone from Chance the Rapper to ZAYN to MØ has hopped on a Snakehips tune and it's not difficult to see why. His attention for detail is never compromised by his tendency to craft festival-ready bangers and Groovin The Moo is the perfect place to whip them out.

GEORGE MAPLE

Everything about GEORGE MAPLE just oozes confidence, sexiness and an element of danger. The entire existence of this Australian songstress radiates opulence, luxury and, in the best way possible, diva. Frequent collabs with fellow Aussie golden child What So Not as well as absolute bops like 'Talk Talk' and freshy 'Kryptonite' make George Maple a cannot-miss act at this year's festival, as she's set to bring her enigmatic stage presence to Australian stages once more.

HAYDEN JAMES

Ever since the blissful listen that was breakout hit 'Permission To Love', life has treated HAYDEN JAMES very very well. His understated approach to dance music in Australia has set him apart - which is increasingly difficult to achieve these days. Between his aforementioned debut and all-conquering banger 'Something About You', Hayden James will take Groovin The Moo attendees on a mighty sonic journey and you'd be stupid not to join him.

SLUMBERJACK

Having just dropped one of 2017's more stellar EPs thus far in FractureSLUMBERJACK have set themselves up nicely for a booming set at this year's Groovin The Moo. The sonic quality of Fracture is a thing of marvel, pulling blissful collaborations with angel Vera Blue and Sydnee Carter just to name a few. Their music is relentless yet accessible, and we can't wait to see this new material translated to the festival scene.
