"The hope was to get him stabilised in Minnesota."
Following news that police have obtained a search warrant for Prince's Paisley Park estate, due to speculation that the late singer had an addiction to painkiller medication, it is now being reported that a doctor was due to meet with Prince to address his addiction just one day after he sadly died at his Minnesota home.
As ABC reports, a lawyer for Doctor Howard Kornfield, a specialist in painkiller addiction, told Minneapolis reporters that Kornfield considered the meeting with Prince as "a lifesaving mission".
"He certainly felt it to be urgent," William Mauzy said.

Kornfeld planned to bring Prince to the Recovery Without Walls clinic in California where he would seek confidential treatment for substance abuse.
"The hope was to get [Prince] stabilised in Minnesota and convince him to come to Recovery Without Walls in Mill Valley," Mauzy revealed.
Kornfield was reportedly contacted by Prince's representatives and while he worked to clear his schedule, he sent his son and medical student Andrew Kornfield, as well as a Minnesota doctor, to visit the musician's home.
Mauzy told reporters that by the time Andrew Kornfield arrived at Paisley Park on 21 April, Prince was already unconscious. Kornfield is believed to be the voice heard in the 911 emergency call.
Meanwhile, a number of US stations have paid tribute to Prince by simultaneously playing his classic ballad Nothing Compares 2 U.
The track was played across the country at exactly 5.07pm local time (8.07am AEST) in reference to the opening lyrics, "It's been seven hours and 13 days since you took your love away".
