The esteemed duo will procede their European sojourn with a quick run around the country this April and May
Acclaimed Melburnian folk-pop duo the Pierce Brothers are an act truly at the precipice of a new era in their career, announcing a run of Aussie dates this April — dubbed the 'Winter Is Coming' tour — before they jet across to Europe to relocate for (the northern hemisphere's) summer.
Pierce Brothers' national tour, which is proudly presented by The Music, carries an extra air of distinction, as its announcement comes in the wake of the news that the boys have just got done shoring up the details on not one but two impressive industry deals — first and foremost, they've signed a major record deal with Warner Music here in Australia and across the ditch in New Zealand, as well as putting away a booking agreement with the UK-based Free Trade Agency (Ed Sheeran, War On Drugs, St Vincent).
Joined by special guests Woodlock and Tash Sultana, the Pierce Brothers will kick off their Aussie tour at Traralgon's Spirit Bar on Friday, 17 April, and head to San Remo's Westernport Hotel, Melbourne's 170 Russell, Maroochydore's Solbar, Brisbane's Woolly Mammoth and Sydney's Newtown Social Club before calling it a day with a finale at the Pirie & Co Social Club, in Adelaide, on Friday, 1 May.
A limited-edition tour-only EP will be available at all the duo's Aussie shows (and only available there), so if you're a collector you'll want to ensure you're getting along to one of their dates anyway, but even if you're a more casual fan you'd be well-advised to party with the Pierces before they head to Europe — it'll be a long winter for us back home while they're gallivanting around hitting up festivals such as Pinkpop, in the Netherlands, or the UK's Great Escape, or generally doing us proud as they tour through Europe, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand in addition to their dates in April.
