Damn, this is cool

Veteran musician Phil Collins has been reissuing six of his seminal solo albums since late last year but, with the final two albums in the series set for release at the end of the week, another grand plan has come to the fore.

To wit, the ex-Genesis drummer and singer has recreated the covers for the albums, which include the already-available Face Value (1981), Hello, I Must Be Going! (1982), Both Sides (1993) and Dance Into The Light (1996) as well as the yet-to-be-released new additions, 1985's No Jacket Required and 1982's Testify.

The finished result is a fascinating look at the march of time, especially viewed side-by-side as the good people at Kottke noted in breaking the story. Take a closer look at the changes below.

The remastered editions of No Jacket Required and Testify will be released this Friday, 15 April; the other albums in the series are available now. Pre-orders and orders are available through Collins' website.
