Phantastic Ferniture are back, having this week released their first new music in seven years and announced a string of tour dates in Australia and New Zealand.
On Monday (8 September), two new songs from the band – Change My Mind and Dare To Fall In Love – premiered on the Sydney-based independent, community radio station, FBi Radio.
Their first songs since the release of their 2018 debut album, the band – Julia Jacklin, Liz Hughes, Tom Stephens, and drummer/producer Ryan K Brennan – wrote the songs on their recent sold-out national tour.
The songs were then recorded at Sydney’s Golden Retriever Studios. Produced by the band, the tracks were mixed and mastered by previous collaborators Tim Carr and Andrew Edgson, respectively. They’ve been released via Makeout Records.
You can check out the songs below.

Beginning with three dates in New Zealand – 11, 12, and 13 December in Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton, the band will then head to Australia, playing three shows along the East Coast on 18, 19, and 20 December.
Tickets will be available from 9 am local time on Monday, 15 September, via the Phantastic Ferniture website.
Phantastic Ferniture played their last show for the “foreseeable future” in December 2018 and had a surprise reunion at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in March 2020.
In January and February of this year, the band returned to the stage with a sold-out national tour. This month, they performed at the Bloomfield Festival and Brisbane Festival.
It seems that we’re experiencing the beginning of a new era, so let’s enjoy the ride.
