Paul McCartney has already added a second and final Sydney show to his upcoming Got Back Australian tour after last week’s Telstra pre-sale was met with unprecedented demand.

The Paul McCartney 2023 Australian tour was teased in a Herald Sun article in late July, with the publication reporting that the musician had booked dates in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with extra dates a possibility.

McCartney begins his Got Back tour with an intimate gig at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, McCartney will then head to stadiums in Melbourne, and Newcastle, followed by two nights in Sydney, then heads to Brisbane, and the Gold Coast, with the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.

The Frontier Touring pre-sale and general tickets will go on sale this week, from Wednesday, 9 August, and Friday, 11 August, respectively.

You can find the staggered timings for the Frontier pre-sale on the touring company’s website and the staggered timings for the general sale below. Who knows what this week’s demand will bring regarding second concerts in other cities?

The Beatles and Wings member will play a second night in Sydney on Saturday, 28 October, making it a two-night, back-to-back celebration of one of the greatest songwriters and artists of all time.

McCartney’s upcoming stops down under are the singer’s first tour dates since his iconic headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival last year, which saw him joined by none other than Dave Grohl, who made his first on-stage appearance since the passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney offered in a statement about last week’s tour announcement. “Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special.

“Australia, we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”
