One of the greatest songwriters of all time, Paul McCartney, is returning to Australia this October and November on his Got Back tour.

The announcement arrives just days after The Music reported on a potential tour down under from the Beatle.

Starting with an arena show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, McCartney will then head to stadiums in Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast, with the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.

McCartney’s return to Australia comes after his lauded 2017 tour, which won the prestigious Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018 and had The Music’s Bryget Chrisfield in awe, writing about Macca’s Melbourne gig at AAMI Park, “Many dreams come true this evening as families unite to celebrate one of the all-time greats. We laugh, we cry, and somehow feel there's still some hope left for our doomed planet.”

Brought to our shores by Frontier Touring, the Members’ pre-sale begins on Wednesday, 9 August, with staggered times, which you can find on the Frontier Touring website.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney offered in a statement. “Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special.

“Australia, we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.” Check out a video message from the man himself below.

McCartney’s upcoming stops in Australia are the singer’s first tour dates since his iconic headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival last year, which saw him joined by none other than Dave Grohl, who made his first on-stage appearance since the passing of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Frontier Touring will also bring Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift to Australia later this year and in early 2024.
