Parkway Drive ProfileMore than a year after taking over the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall stage, Byron Bay metal icons Parkway Drive have unveiled the trailer for the concert film from that night.
Last June, the band performed a sold-out show at the Sydney Opera House, backed by a symphonic orchestra, and turned their typical gigs into a one-night-only black-tie event.
The upcoming concert film, HOME, was produced by Hype Republic, directed by Allan Hardy (Viva The Underdogs) and Macario De Souza (Bra Boys) and will be distributed by Mushroom Studios. It lands in cinemas in November, and the trailer is finally here.
In the clip, band members discuss the momentous occasion that was headlining the Sydney Opera House, with live performances from the show also set to feature.
Performing Home is For the Heartless in the clip, Parkway Drive discuss the nerves behind combining their music with an orchestra – and the unlikely circumstance – feature fan testimonials, and outline the special moments of having Tonight Alive’s Jenna McDougall and rapper Nooky joining them on stage.

HOME will have its world premiere during a black-tie event at Sydney’s State Theatre on Tuesday, 10 November, followed by an exclusive Q&A with the band. The concert film then hits cinemas worldwide in November.
The band announced the impending cinema release of HOME last October, with vocalist Winston McCall performing a dramatic aerial stunt from a helicopter at the Sydney Opera House.
He said at the time, “Every Aussie grows up seeing the Sydney Opera House on postcards and TV, but never in a million years did I think I’d be standing on it - let alone dropping onto it from a helicopter. That’s an experience I’ll never forget. There’s nothing quite like it.”
Reviewing the HOME concert last June, The Music’s Alasdair Belling described the show as a “total, unforgettable triumph” and declared: “With a choir also filing onstage for specific songs, it quickly became apparent that, rather than just riffs with string beds, this was a full-tilt heavy metal extravaganza.”
