More Parkway Drive More Parkway Drive

Australian heavy metal heroes Parkway Drive will put on a show like their fans have never seen this June. Today, the band announced they’ll return home for a special, one-night-only performance backed by a full symphonic orchestra in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.

The one-off show will immortalise the band as they continue their 20th-anniversary celebrations. The concert will be featured in their forthcoming feature documentary and live album, HOME.

Parkway Drive will present their epic show with a full symphonic orchestra at the Sydney Opera House on Monday, 9 June. Early bird pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday, 5 March, at 9 am AEDT – register here for access. The general sale begins on Friday, 7 March, at 9 am AEDT via the Sydney Opera House website.

Vocalist Winston McCall said of the historic concert: “For over two decades, we have carried our home in our hearts as we roamed around the world. Australia has made us; from the dirt to the sky, it is who we are.

“So, it is with open arms that we present to you this iconic event: Parkway Drive as you have never seen or heard it, with a full symphonic orchestra, performed at the most iconic building in the land—the Sydney Opera House. One night, one show, one band. Please join us for a black-tie celebration of the place we call home.”

HOME will mark the band’s third foray into film. It follows 2009’s Parkway Drive: The DVD and 2020’s candid look into the band’s road to Germany’s Wacken heavy metal festival, Viva The Underdogs.

Last September, Parkway Drive celebrated their 20th anniversary with a massive arena tour along with international special guests I Prevail, The Ghost Inside, and Melbourne’s own Void Of Vision.

Catching them at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena, I wrote for The Music: “Parkway Drive didn’t just raise the bar, but they showed what’s possible for heavy music in Australia. And it’s glorious.”

And once again, they’re showing what a heavy metal band from Australia can do: they can bloody headline the Sydney Opera House and play with a symphonic orchestra.
