Hayden Christensen & Ewan McGregor To Reprise Roles For New Star Wars Series

Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor are set to reprise their iconic roles for upcoming Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi

The news was announced via Twitter this morning, with the series taking place "10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge Of The Sith". 

The pair last portrayed their iconic characters, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader (Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor), in the 2005 film which was the last of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. 

It's been reported by EW that Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to run as a six episode limited series, rather than an ongoing story.   

The news comes as Disney shares plans to expand on the success of Star Wars series The Mandalorian with an additional 10 shows about the universe. 

There's also been more announced on Oscar winning New Zealand director Taika Waititi's upcoming film project (read more about it here).

"A brand-new Star Wars feature with acclaimed filmmaker @TaikaWaititi is in development. Get ready for an unforgettable ride!" announced the franchise via a Twitter post today. 

Rosario Dawson will reprise her recent role from The Mandalorian in new series Ahsoka, while Rangers Of The New Republic has also been announced as a new original series set to run in The Mandalorian timeline and the Lando Calrissian character will return once more in new series, Lando.

No specific launch dates have been shared for the projects yet.
