More Oasis More Oasis

A few weeks after longtime Oasis guitarist Paul BoneheadArthurs announced that he’d have to miss the band’s upcoming Australian tour dates due to ongoing cancer treatment, it seems the band have found his replacement.

The UK publication The Mirror reports that Mike Moore has signed on as Bonehead’s temporary replacement for the forthcoming shows.

Moore is a close friend of singer Liam Gallagher and tours as part of his solo band. With Oasis, he’ll perform in Goyang, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.

A source reportedly close to Oasis told The Mirror, “Mike Moore has been playing for Liam since 2017, and so he knows plenty of the Oasis tunes from the solo gigs.

“It’s not a full-time slot in the band, and everyone wants Bonehead well and back, but it’s a huge privilege for Mike, and he’s excited to get on the stage.”

The rest of Oasis’s touring band remains the same, with Liam set to be joined by his brother Noel Gallagher (guitar and vocals), Gem Archer (guitar), Andy Bell (bass), and Joey Waronker (drums).

In a post addressed to fans, Bonehead recently informed fans that he’d be missing the shows in South Korea, Japan, and Australia as he continues undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. He also revealed that he’s responding “really well” to the treatment, and this is a “planned break” from the tour so he can return upon the band’s South American dates in November.

On their Instagram Stories, Oasis wrote that they wish their bandmate “all the best” with his treatment and will perform with him again in South America.

From 31 October to 8 November, Oasis will perform five shows in Australia on their reunion tour, including three dates at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium and two shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. The Australian dates will see the Britpop heroes joined by local special guests Ball Park Music.
