Oasis guitarist and co-founder Paul BoneheadArthurs has announced that he’ll miss the band’s upcoming tour dates as he receives cancer treatment.

The shows affected include Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney, as he embarks on a “planned break” to have treatment for prostate cancer.

“Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is I’m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour,” Bonehead wrote on Instagram on Friday (3 October).

He continued, “Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.

“I’m really sad to be missing these shows but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America. Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November. Bonehead.”

On their Instagram Stories, Oasis wrote that they wish their bandmate “all the best” with his treatment and will perform with him again in South America.

“Wishing you all the best with your treatment @boneheadspage – we’ll see you back on stage in South America,” their response reads.

The Music wishes Bonehead the best for his treatment.

As the BBC notes, Bonehead previously recovered from tonsil cancer in 2022.

He plays rhythm guitar and keyboards with Oasis. After leaving the band in 1999, he returned this year when Liam and Noel Gallagher announced the band would reunite for the Live ’25 Tour.

Oasis recently performed their seventh show at London’s Wembley Stadium, returning for two massive shows last month after already playing five concerts in July.

Their Live ’25 Tour continues at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium on 21 October, followed by two nights at Japan’s Tokyo Dome on 25 and 26 October.

Then, the band heads to Australia for three shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium (31 October, 1 and 4 November), and two nights at Sydney’s Accor Stadium (7 and 8 November). For the Australian leg of the shows, Oasis will be joined by special guests Ball Park Music.

Oasis’s South American dates take place from 15 to 23 November.
