This July, Townsville will be home to a brand-new travelling music festival, One Street One Day.
One Street One Day will begin with the first of many planned “street-style music events” in Townsville, locking in diverse acts such as headliners Hilltop Hoods, plus DMA’S, Meg Mac, In Hearts Wake, Coterie, Brad Cox, Mia Wray, and local talent. The inaugural, 16+ event will take place on Saturday, 26 July, on Rooney Street, Townsville.
The festival anticipates approximately 10,000 music lovers to attend the event in the Queensland town. Tickets are available today via the One Street One Day website. The federal and Queensland governments have made the new festival possible through Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
Hilltop Hoods’ DJ Debris said of the upcoming event, “It’s been way too long since we last played in Townsville. We can’t wait to get back to your friendly and warm town and be part of ONE STREET ONE DAY festival.”
TEG’s Head of Global Touring, Tim McGregor, added, “Thrilled to be rolling out these exciting new music events to the country’s outer regions and seeing locals get the opportunity to experience the best of Australian music in their very own township.”
Acting Townsville Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney also shared a statement. Commenting on the inaugural event occurring in Townsville, Greaney said, “Council couldn’t be more proud to be supporting this brand new festival. Hosting ONE STREET ONE DAY in the heart of Townsville is a real boon for our city.
