Metro A.i.R is Metro Social’s newest artist residency program, which sees a selection of emerging and established artists take to Metro Social every Wednesday for a free, weekly program of performances. Metro A.i.R is a program that “welcomes all genres of live music” with the overarching goal of “providing Sydneysiders the chance to see beloved local acts and discover new favourites”.
This November, Metro A.i.R is hosting Country Crush, a celebration of Australian country music presented by Wheelhouse Agency. Brisbane country group The Wet Whistles will take to the Metro Social this Wednesday, with Melbourne-based country pop singer Taylor Moss playing on the 20th of November, with country sibling band The Buckleys closing out Country Crush on the 27th of November.
December’s programming will come from beloved Aussie pop artist Carla Webhe & Friends. Slated to kick off “Alt Grl Summer” alongside Wehbe is indie rock artist Charlie Collins, Sydney pop purist MYMA, indie pop/rock artist Hayley Holgate, emotive singer-songwriter Mikayla Pasterfield, plus many more acts yet to be announced.
Starting 2025 at Metro Social is the Sydney-based collective Full Circle. Hailing from Western Sydney, Full Circle featuring Breakfast Road, Zion Garcia, Nick Ward, Dylan Atlantis, Friday* and SOLLYY will be bringing their unabashed energy into the heart of the city. Talent emerging from “the Area” has become more and more of a recognised force over the years, and the unmatched talent of Full Circle will be put on full display as Metro Social transforms into a mosh pit every Wednesday of January 2025.
In February, the Metro Social stage will highlight BNTN MNTN presented by New Zealand music producer and artist Tim Powles, who is most notable for his contributions as a member of the Australian rock band The Church. Powles is bringing a modern freshness as part of BNTN MNTN with an exciting offering of genre-bending electronic music.
