Publishing company strikes deal with SONGS
Australian Native Tongue Music Publishing have announced today a deal that will see them become the Australian and New Zealand sub-publisher for American company SONGS.
Significantly, this means they will represent Ella Yelich-O'Connor aka Lorde's publishing catalogue after she signed a $2.5 million deal with the company earlier this month. The 17-year-old star reportedly received offers of up to $4 million, but decided to sign with SONGS after a lengthy courting process.
Today Native Tongue's Managing Director Chris Gough said, “SONGS has a deep roster of very active songwriters, including some of the most successful contemporary artists in the world. We are very proud to be associated with such a progressive company and to be the local representative for such an incredibly talented roster of writers and artists.
“We, of course, are particularly excited to be playing our small part in working with Ella in her home country as part of the SONGS team.”
