Metallica fans have fulfilled Lifeblood's hopes that their unique partnership would "fuel" an influx of donors they could "welcome home" to donor centres.

Metallica have joined forces with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, celebrating the lifesaving power of blood and plasma donors. As a result of the initiative (and dedicated fandom), multiple cities are already booked out for the special blood drives.
Of course, the American heavy metal band will return to Australia for the first time in 12 years this October and November.
In the lead-up to their tour dates, Metallica—in partnership with their foundation, All Within My Hands—have teamed up with select Lifeblood CBD donor locations in the week before each tour date. Fans who donate blood, plasma, and platelets on select dates will receive a limited-edition Metallica t-shirt designed by their long-time collaborator, Squindo.
The Metallica blood drive dates will take place on the following dates:
Perth Donor Centre: Saturday, 25 October to Friday, 31 October
Adelaide Donor Centre: Wednesday, 29 October, to Tuesday, 4 November
Melbourne CBD Donor Centre: Saturday, 1 November, to Friday, 7 November
Brisbane Donor Centre: Wednesday, 5 November, to Tuesday, 11 November
Sydney Town Hall and York Street Donor Centres: Saturday, 8 November, to Friday, 14 November
Already, blood donations for the weeks mentioned above in Adelaide and Brisbane are fully booked, with days surrounding the Metallica blood drive still having appointments available. In all other cities, three to four days are booked out, with limited appointments remaining for the last few days.

During the band’s recent US tour, Metallica and the All Within My Hands Foundation’s partnership with the Red Cross helped collect over 2,000 blood and platelet donations. Are Australian fans about to do even better?
Australian Red Cross Lifeblood’s Executive Director of Donor Experience, Cath Stone, said: “Metallica and their foundation’s commitment to making every tour stop a better place, by rallying fans to donate blood and plasma, is a selfless act that will have a lifesaving impact on so many individuals and their families.”
Stone added, “With demand for blood at a 12-year high and plasma demand at record levels, we hope this partnership will fuel an influx of Metallica fan donors that we can welcome home to our donor centres.
“Don’t let blood donation be the day that never comes, because when you’re saving lives, nothing else matters.”
