Metallica Announce 2025 Australian Tour

Metallica have finally announced their first Australian tour in 12 years.

After some much-appreciated teasing, the legendary American heavy metal band have revealed that they will return to our shores in November 2025. They will play in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney before heading to New Zealand for a show in Auckland.

Starting the tour at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Saturday, 1 November, the Enter Sandman metallers will then take over Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, 5 November, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Saturday, 8 November, Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, 12 November, and wraps up at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Saturday, 15 November.

As for support acts, Metallica will be joined by rock band Evanescence and iconic punks Suicidal Tendencies. The latter act sees Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s son, Tye, on bass – reprising his father’s position in the band.

For this tour, Australia won’t see the band’s No-Repeat Weekend. Instead, these M72 shows—named after last year’s LP, 72 Seasons—are described as One Night Only shows. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will find Metallica performing at the end of stadiums, with the band’s infamous Snake Pit extended from the front of the stage.
