Merpire will be hitting the road this August, having announced a run of solo dates in support of her forthcoming second album, MILK POOL.
The musical moniker of Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt, Merpire has been on the scene for around a decade now, having first made a noted impact following the release of debut album Simulation Ride back in 2021.
Now, Merpire is readying the release of her second album this July. Officially set for release on July 4th, MILK POOL is a confident return for Merpire, with the record showing a greater sense of confidence alongside a greater command of vulnerability, honesty, and even her unique brand of wry humour.
To celebrate its forthcoming release, Merpire has unveiled a series of launch dates for the new record. Intimate and laid-back in their nature, all of these dates will see Merpire in solo mode, offering meet-and-greets along with vinyl signing opportunites.
Kicking off at The Junk Bar in Magandjin/Brisbane on August 15th, the tour is set to head over to Eora/Sydney, and Canberra before heading down to Naarm/Melbourne for a pair of hometown shows.
Already the response to these dates has been stellar, with the first of these Melbourne dates at Northcote’s Merri Creek Tavern selling out within 24 hours and necessitating the addition of another a week later.
