Singer speaks out.
Melbourne artist Melody Pool has slammed Facebook after her account was blocked by the social media giants for writing a post about her period pain.
The folk singer took to Twitter on Sunday to express her outrage about the post which was deemed "inappropriate".
Thanks for deleting my post about period pain & not allowing me to post for 24hrs @facebook oh yeah & for the disgusting hit of oppression

I'm dumbfounded that a NORMAL BODILY FUNCTION is "inappropriate"?! Are you kidding me @facebook ? I can't even message anyone

I am so furious that I got suspended for 24hrs from @facebook for being a woman with a menstrual cycle.

According to news.com.au, the post updated to her private page read, "Does anywhere deliver codeine to you because lady blood moon is waging war upon me," which Facebook said "violated their community standards".

in a statement given to theMusic, Pool said she was "shocked" after being notified by Facebook about the post.
"I've had some enquiries into a post I made on my personal page over the weekend about period pain," Pool said.
"I was shocked and angered by the fact that the content was considered inappropriate, resulting in my Facebook account being blocked for 24 hours."
The Kurri Kurri-born performer questioned why the subject matter was enough for her to be banned, saying, "I am a passionate believer in feminism and progress on such issues..."
Her Facebook account has since been reactivated.
Pool is set to open for Bob Evans' national tour kicking off next month — check out theGuide for more details.
