"I really liked the record but I had no idea it would do what is has so far..."
Most people would be aware of Sydney artist Starley's breakout track Call On Me which has cracked the music charts at home and abroad, but what is becoming a hit of its own is a remix of the song by Melbourne DJ, Ryan Riback.
After making its debut on the ARIA Singles chart in mid-December at #28, the remix has since blasted up the charts to sit comfortably at #12 and is also now expected to crack the top ten this week.
It has also been a huge success overseas, peaking at #1 on the Swedish chart, #9 in New Zealand, #13 in Czech Republic and #23 in Slovakia.
Speaking to The Music, Riback says that he is shocked by the attention his remix has received.

"I honestly am [surprised]," Riback says.
"I really liked the record but I had no idea it would do what is has so far. It's awesome."
The producer was asked by his label to work on the track after they were impressed by some other remixes he worked on and though he had never met Starley, Riback says he is a huge fan of the singer.
"I'd heard Starley's voice on the Odd Mob track (Into You) she did with them and really liked it."
Given that the original has performed so well on the global market, Riback hopes the remix will follow the same path, as it has already racked up over 128 million streams since its release late last year.
"I feel like it is already starting to make its way onto the airwaves over there because of all the attention on Spotify," he says.
"But I hope it continues to surprise us all."
There'll be no slowing down for Riback either, as he plans to release a number of new remixes of songs from names like Maroon 5, Fifth Harmony and Fergie, as well as some original works.
