Hollywood hits the ARIA charts.

This past December has largely been a battle of the Christmas albums, but the ARIA Albums chart is about to be bombarded by Hollywood, with film soundtracks set to duke it out for #1 in the first week of 2017.

After hanging around the top ten in past weeks, the soundtrack for Justin Timberlake's Dreamworks flick, Trolls, is the best bet to take out top spot, alongside the LP for fellow animated musical film SING which features names like Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and John C Reilly.

Also a threat for top spot is the soundtrack for Dwayne Johnson's new Disney film, Moana, which is primed for a top five debut.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack for the film on everyone's lips and hot Oscars favourite, La La Land (starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone), is debuting this week and is expected to land comfortably in the top 30.

Last week a string of George Michael hits found their way back into the ARIA charts following the singer's death and you can expect that to continue.

The late UK icon's 1998 compilation, Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best Of George Michael, is heading towards a top ten finish after coming in at #14 last week.

Over on the Singles chart, a remix of Sydney artist Starley's hit song, Call On Me, is surging up the list after the original scored spots on the US and UK charts

After coming in at #12 the last few weeks, the remix by Melbourne DJ Ryan Riback, is primed to crack the top ten.
