Melbourne is already home to some of the country’s most beloved music venues, but it’s time to welcome a new one: Odeon Richmond.
The city’s latest addition to its cultural landscape has been described as a “dynamic multi-purpose” live music and arts venue.
Situated in the Swan St precinct of Richmond, Odeon Richmond is a short train or tram ride from the CBD. It is surrounded by pubs, hip shopping outlets, and the Corner Hotel.
Live music will debut at Odeon Richmond on Saturday, 1 June, when Clouds’ Jodi Phillis takes the stage and Stephanie Cherote plays an acoustic set.
You can find Odeon Richmond at 267 Swan Street, Richmond. If you want to get on the new venue’s stage, you can email welcome@odeonrichmond.com.au.
Odeon Richmond arrives with “state-of-the-art facilities” that are set to showcase the city’s cultural and musical diversity. It promises nights of indie dance club events, traditional Greek music, acoustic performances, and more.

The new venue contains flexible event spaces, the capability to share projected content, and is already soundproofed. Odeon Richmond will welcome local and international artists for performances and VIP showcases, sell exclusive merchandise and host Q&A opportunities.
The owners of Odeon Richmond, Eleni Tzaros and Bruce Butler, have 40 years of experience in the Melbourne music industry and believe the new space is exactly what locals have been waiting for.
Tzaros commented in a statement, “As our name’s legacy indicates, we are a multi-faceted performance venue in the heart of Melbourne, with a focus on presenting all the riches of talent both locally and abroad. This will be an extraordinary place to come together.”
Butler added, “Odeon Richmond aims to be the venue where artists, punters and industry folk alike will be drawn together in an inviting environment to share a love of music and the arts.”
