This year's performers have also been announced.

Joy McKean OAM will be honoured with the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at this year's APRA Music Awards.

McKean first came to prominence in the 1940s alongside her sister Heather as the McKean Sisters, before marrying Slim Dusty and writing many of his best-known tracks.

McKean was awarded the first-ever Golden Guitar Award back in 1973 for Lights On The Hill, and was inducted twice into the Australasian Country Music Roll of Renown for her work as a solo artist and with the McKean Sisters.

She was the focus of the documentary Slim & I which was released last year and "tells the incredible story of that partnership and of the brilliant woman who lived beside, rather than behind, the legend".

"I am honoured indeed to be chosen as the 2021 recipient of the prestigious Ted Albert Award," said McKean. "It was most unexpected, and I thank those who must have nominated me for such consideration by APRA.
