"Grand Final Day is a chance for us to all come together and celebrate with the best of the best. I can’t wait to perform with an exciting all-Australian pre-game show line up in front of a full house again.”

More Jimmy Barnes More Jimmy Barnes

Jimmy Barnes and Bliss N Eso will lead an all-Aussie entertainment lineup at this weekend's NRL Grand Final at Accor Stadium.

The NRL Grand Final pre-game show will be headlined by Aussie rock legend, Jimmy Barnes, who will perform with friends including ARIA-winning singer-songwriters, the DIESEL and special guest Josh Teskey, alongside award-winning Indigenous singer-songwriter Emma Donovan.

Break-out Eurovision 2022 star Sheldon Riley will bring his spectacular style to Accor Stadium with a cinematic and unique performance.

Australian hip-hop legends Bliss n Eso (featuring JOY) will perform their hit, Moments paying tribute to the game’s retiring players.

Speaking about the honour of appearing at the event, Barnes shared his thoughts "Grand Final Day is a chance for us to all come together and celebrate with the best of the best. I can’t wait to perform with an exciting all-Australian pre-game show line up in front of a full house again.”

The grand final weekend will be a family affair for Barnes, with his daughter, powerhouse soul & blues vocalist, Mahalia Barnes, teaming up with Western Sydney’s new queen of hip-hop & RnB, A.GIRL, and Emma Donovan to deliver a reimagining of the iconic Aussie classic, The Real Thing as part of the first-ever pre-game show for the NRLW Grand Final, which will also take place on Sunday at Accor stadium.

Mahalia offed her thoughts on the big occasion. "I’m really looking forward to singing with A.GIRL and Emma Donovan at the 2022 NRLW Grand Final’s First Ever Pre-Game Show. It’s going to be a great afternoon filled with music and footy. Let’s hear it for the girls!”

The NRL has also announced that the national anthem at the event will be sung by Alinta Chidzey, star of Moulin Rouge! The Musical – The Broadway Spectacular.  There had been hints that Byron Bay's metal titans Parkway Drive may appear at the event, given the widespread use of Darker Still during the NRL finals series promotional packages, but the band's European tour commitments appear to make that impossible.

The all-Aussie approach offers a point of difference from what rival code the AFL chose to do with their extravagant pre-game entertainment which was headlined by Robbie Williams.
