Flying into the nebulous fog of social (ir)responsibility
Jetstar has expressed regret over the choice of words from a flight attendant on-board a plane filled with returning Splendour In The Grass festival-goers on Sunday night after the staff member reportedly warned passengers to flush "anything [they] shouldn't have" before landing at Sydney Airport.
As Fairfax reports, the announcement allegedly ignited a rush of traffic headed for the toilet to avoid an unpleasant encounter with waiting sniffer dogs and quarantine officers.
The airline has consequently offered an apology for the incident, explaining that the employee will be disciplined, and that although the spirit of their message was in line with the company's quarantine announcement requirements, the words were "poorly chosen and plainly at odds with the professional standards we'd expect from our team", the airline told Fairfax.
"We're addressing the matter with the cabin crew member involved."

Despite the airline's apology, some individuals have taken to Facebook to commend the anonymous staff member on what they see as a divine act of social responsibility.
"What a good Samaritan," commented one. "Jetstar Australia this guy deserves a promotion."
"Just heard about this, and wanted to say that in my opinion this crew member should be rewarded," offered another. "It's easy to just do your job and not care for other people, but here is an employee that has shown they are truly looking out for the best interests of your paying customers. Thanks."
