A quick look at the moves and grooves of the nation's indie bands this week
Australia's current big claim to fame, Gotye, is set to head back to his roots, releasing two compilations in February with former band The Basics – Ingredients, the band's best of record, and new material on the Leftovers disc.
Chet Faker has finally struck into the ARIA Charts, with mini-debut Thinking In Textures securing the #44 spot in its first week, while Flume continues to hold position in the top five.
In a matter of days, indie icons Underground Lovers proved that they were also loved by their fans, the band reaching their financial goal – paid for in crowd-funding – for the creation of new record Weekend.
One half of once-loved indie duo Kid Sam, Kieran Ryan announced his debut-solo self-titled record, complete with a track list and everything – check it out.
Also tempting fans with album details and a track list are Melbourne's Super Wild Horses, set to deliver their sophomore record Crosswords in early-April.
Along with album releases, there have been plenty of buzz surrounding new single releases this week:
Aussie favourites British India unleashed another new tune called Summer Forgive Me which fans can expect on their new record Controller, set for release this March, and this one is unmistakably British India.
Wolf & Cub also dropped an awesome new wild clip for single Salao – fans can also expect a new full length release in the near future.
We brought you the new single from Kiwi indie band Transistors, giving us a taste of their upcoming sophomore record with Dirty Diver with the addition of B side Downer – a Nirvana cover.
