EYE ON THE INDIE CHARTS...

There was one debut in the top ten of AIR's singles/EP charts for independent labels with independent distribution this week, with hotly-tipped Sydney outfit Sheppard debuting at seven this week with their EP Sheppard (independent/MGM). Michael Chugg is shining on this outfit and they're lining up a big 12 months.

Natasha Duarte's Wanted To Feel (Empire Records/independent) was another big mover, re-entering the top 20 at two just behind Flume's Wanted To Feel (Future Classic/independent).

The rest of the top five was rounded out by Rufus's Take Me (Sweat It Out/Xelon) at three, Flume featuring T.Shirt's On Top (Future Classic/independent) at four and Hermitude's HyperParadise Flume remix (Elefant Traks/Inertia) at five.

There were two debuts in AIR's albums chart for independent labels with independent distribution, with 22-year-old Melbourne rapper Allday shooting to the top of the chart with Loners Are Cool (independent/MGM). The release is an EP but is listed as an album for ARIA's charts, which is where AIR gets its figures from. It debuted at 18 on ARIA this week. The other debut came from Brisbane pop-punk outfit Call The Shots whose When Everything Goes Wrong (independent/Shock) arrived at 17.

The albums top five also featured Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Push The Sky Away (Kobalt/Inertia) at two, The Drones' I See Seaweed (independent/MGM) at three, Emma Louise's Vs Head Vs Heart (independent/MGM) at four and Seth Sentry's This Was Tomorrow (High Score Records/Inertia) at five.

Kingswood's Change Of Heart (Capgun Kids/MGM) re-entered at six.
