#1-#100: Here Are The Hottest 100 Results

Homegrown talent has once again dominated the Hottest 100, with 65 local tunes making the triple j list, but Gen Z disruptor Billie Eilish has taken out the countdown. 

There was some fierce competition this year, with the youth broadcaster reportedly receiving a record 3,211,596 votes in the lead up.

Dune Rats kicked off the countdown with No Plans at #100.

Denzel Curry’s Like A Version cover of Bulls On Parade was a strong contender for the top place, but ended up landing at #5 (making it the highest placed Like A Version in history), behind Aussie producer Flume at #2 with Rushing Back, Mallrat's Charlie at #3 and Tones & I's ARIA-record-breaking track Dance Monkey.

Eight songs in the top ten were by Aussie acts, with Hilltop Hoods’ Exit Sign (#10), Thelma Plum's Better In Blak (#9), The Jungle Giants' Heavy Hearted (#8), Lime Cordiale's Robbery (#7) and G Flip's Drink Too Much also making the cut.

But ultimately Eilish's track Bad Guy was too strong. It is the first time a solo female act has won the countdown. She is also the youngest artist to ever win and had the most entries in the hundred (five).

"Thank you, guys, you did this," Eilish shared on air after she found out the news. 

"That’s insane. Thank you so much, it’s an honour. It’s so crazy to me. I love Australia, I miss you guys. I haven’t been there in a minute and I’m so excited to go back.”
