After years of steadily brewing anticipation, Hilltoop Hoods are finally back.

The Blackwood-bred hip-hop three-piece - one of the country’s most enduring music forces - have just announced their first album in six years: Fall From The Light.

Produced by One Above with additional production by Sesta and Suffa, Fall From The Light will be Hilltop Hoods’ ninth studio album and is set to be released on Friday, August 1st, through Island Records/UMA.

Recorded in Adelaide, Darwin, Melbourne, and New Zealand, the twelve-track album features the 2025 lead single ‘The Gift’ feat. Marlon', recent fan-favourite single ‘Don’t Happy, Be Worry’ and the Gold accredited ‘Laced Up’. It will also include additional collaborations from New Zealand group SIX60 and Australian songstress Nyassa.

The three members of Hilltop Hoods sound ecstatic to be releasing Fall From The Light soon.

“This album has been an exercise in patience. Six years is a long time between albums, but there’s a good reason for that. There was a lot happening, in the world and in our lives. But it turns out (from my perspective anyway), that time was the albums strength, not its weakness. We’ve never been so thorough, so pedantic with an album before. The result is something that’s been carefully crafted with an extreme attention to detail. It’s an album that we’re really proud of, and a body of music that we can’t wait to share with everyone,” Suffa says.

Pressure adds, “We really took our time with this one. We put more years into it than any other of our albums because we wanted it to be our best work to date. Putting it out after so long feels more monumental and exciting than ever.”

“After the longest period between albums, I’m so proud to be able to finally release this body of work to our listeners…and really can’t wait to deliver these new tunes live,” states DJ Debris.

The full tracklisting is as follows:

  1. Fall From The Light Feat. Nyassa

  2. Never Coming Home Feat. SIX60

  3. The Gift Feat. Marlon

  4. Get Well Soon Feat. SIX60

  5. Naked

The album will be released on Limited Edition 180-gram 2LP coloured vinyl variants, available through the bands official store, JB HiFi, and selected retailers, with the first vinyl pressing featuring a special gatefold design, making it a must-have for dedicated fans. It will also be available on CD and tape. Fans can preorder at this link.

The trio have just headlined sold out festivals, Bass In The Grass (Darwin) and Bluesfest (Byron Bay), and will return to the live stage later in 2025 to support the new singles and the album release.

A number of headline/festival dates have already been confirmed across Australia, UK, and Europe with more shows to be announced soon.
