Sony, Universal deals reportedly locked in
Google has struck deals with Sony Music Entertainment and the Universal Music Group in preparation for the launch of its streaming service – which could come as soon as tomorrow.
Technology blog The Verge have reported that the service has locked in the deals, after previously coming to terms with Warner, and the service may be unveiled at Google's annual developer conference, which starts Wednesday in America (tonight Australian time).
Unlike Apple's rumoured 'iRadio' service, it is believed that Google's streaming offering will be on-demand and therefore put itself into competition with services such as Spotify, Daisy, Rdio and Deezer. Google already own leading video streaming website YouTube.
