Sydneysiders, occasional US dwellers, and indie-rock heroes Gang Of Youths have officially released the eagerly awaited video clip for their present, wildly popular single Poison Drum, and complemented that with the announcement of a pair of headline dates next month.

Shot in the States, the video for Poison Drum saw the acclaimed five piece spend “what was probably the best week of our lives in LA playing shows”, guitarist Joji Malani said, “and on our day off we got to experience a lot of LA making this video, and, us being the pseudo-alternatives we are, decided to spoil the culture of LA, with us doing shitty, cringeworthy things like being carted around on pulleys in a Skid Row piñata store and sucking on noodles in Chinatown.”

Despite having formed only last year, the hotly touted buzz band has quickly made impressive headway at home and abroad, previously sharing stages with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Frightened Rabbit and Manchester Orchestra. Soon, too, they'll join Foster The People as supports for that band's forthcoming Aussie tour, proudly presented by theMusic.com.au.

Those shows go down at Melbourne's Palais Theatre on Monday, July 28, and Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Tuesday, July 29 (sold out); Gang Of Youths will play a gig preceding that at Toowoomba Winter Embrace on Saturday, July 19, and round the whole stint out with their dual headline appearances at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Thursday, August 14, and Sydney's Oxford Art Factory two nights later on the 16th.

Gang Of Youths are currently finishing up work on their eagerly awaited debut full-length, at which theMusic.com.au was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek on a visit to their studio.

Tickets for both shows are available now. Check the Gig Guide or download The Music App (Android available here) for details.
