'Game Of Thrones' Composer Explains 'Immersive' Vision For Concert Series

The shows will be held in 28 cities across the US early next year

Game Of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi has opened up about his vision for an "immersive" and "involved" upcoming series of live concerts, inspired by the hit HBO show, to be held in the US early next year.

With tickets now on sale, Djawadi spoke to The Guardian about the impending series, Game Of Thrones: The Live Concert Experience, which is presently scheduled to kick off in February 2017, explaining that although he is "still digging through the pile of music" from which he has to choose, he and his crew "have a pretty good idea of the scope" of the production, which will be performed by a full orchestra when the concert tour starts its run to 28 cities across the United States.

"The idea is to touch upon the different houses and themes and all of the great moments of the show," Djawadi said, explaining that fans are in for an audio-visual experience that will feature flagship tracks such as The Rains Of Castamere, the Stark family theme music and utterly gorgeous season-six finale opener Light Of The Seven alongside backing footage from throughout the show's run (and potentially some as-yet unseen material).

"What we're planning on doing is building our own stage and have this be an immersive experience," Djawadi told The Guardian.

"Game Of Thrones has so many colours and locations, I want to take the audience to Westeros, so when we perform we want to have set designs and more involved visual elements."

If you've got the cash, time and geographic ability to attend the concerts, tickets are available now.
