American rock band Fame On Fire have cancelled their forthcoming Australian tour as singer Bryan Kuznitz has suffered a significant injury.

Kuznitz has a “fully torn ACL and meniscus” in his right knee. Due to the injury, he’ll require surgery and time to recover, as he’s currently in “constant pain and unable to walk without assistance.”

Fame On Fire were set to make their Australian tour debut this month.

With tour dates along the East Coast, the band were set to headline shows at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Wednesday, 21 May, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Thursday, 22 May, and Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Friday, 23 May. The tour also featured Aussie openers alt. and Tapestry.

The band announced on social media this week (7 May) that they’d no longer tour Australia this month.

“This isn't an easy statement to make, and it genuinely sucks but unfortunately, we will not be able to bring The Death Card Tour to you as planned,” the statement began.

Kuznitz continued, “While on our US tour, I was involved in an accident. After going to the ER and getting an MRI done, it was found that I have a fully torn ACL and meniscus in my right knee. This has left me in constant pain and unable to walk without assistance.

“After consulting with doctors and our team, we've been advised that I shouldn't fly and need to stay home for surgery so I can fully recover and continue touring in the future.

“This truly breaks our hearts. We were all incredibly excited for our first run in Australia. We're so sorry this happened, and we promise to make it up to you somehow. Thank you for all your support.”

Since making their start as a band that covered metalcore versions of pop and hip-hop songs, Fame On Fire have extended their fanbase with their original music, which includes the albums Levels (2020), Welcome To The Chaos (2022), and last year’s The Death Card.
