I hope you’re happy with yourself.

Life is imitating art with the latest offering from Icelandic muso Daði Freyr.

In the recent Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams Netflix comedy based around Eurovision, the duo’s fictitious act, Fire Saga, who are Iceland’s entry into the song competition, keep getting berated by local audiences to perform an old folk tune dubbed Jaja Ding Dong, which has since become a cult hit since the film’s release.

And so it’s not surprising that in the weeks following Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga becoming a global hit that actual Iceland Eurovision contestant Daði Freyr has been smashed with requests to perform the track.

Well, it’s finally happened – and it’s glorious, with the muso giving the track a fitting makeover and making it his own.

It also appears that Freyr has blown up thanks to the film, adding a thank you to his now 100,000 YouTube subscribers in the video’s description.
